What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Focus Cfo Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee may be referred to as a 'Franchisee,' an 'Entity,' or an 'Area President.' The Franchisee is required to enter the agreement as a business entity, such as a limited liability company, which is referred to as the 'Entity.' The equity owner of that entity then operates the franchise as an 'Area President.'
Focus CFO also uses the terms 'CFO' or 'Licensee' to refer to Focus CFO Licensees who perform CFO Services. The Area President does not typically perform the CFO Services themselves, but rather markets and offers CFO Services using the Focus CFO Marks. However, the Franchisee has the option to perform CFO Services on a limited basis as a CFO under a separate CFO Licensing Agreement, while still maintaining their status as an Area President.
Additionally, the Franchisee may hire employees or outside contractors for administrative support, referred to as 'Support Resources.' However, Focus CFO requires prior written approval for any Support Resource designated as having a 'public facing role' that utilizes the Focus CFO Marks. This approval is necessary to protect the Focus CFO brand. The Franchisee is fully responsible for all Support Resources they hire and must comply with all employment laws and regulations.
