Are there any pending proceedings regarding Focus Cfo's copyrighted materials?

According to Focus Cfo's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, there are no pending proceedings regarding their copyrighted materials. Focus Cfo claims copyright protection for its Playbook, training materials, advertising and promotional content, standard proposal and contract documents, professional services agreements, and related materials. However, these materials have not been registered with the Copyright Office of the Library of Congress.

The FDD states that there are no effective determinations from the United States Copyright Office or any court concerning Focus Cfo's materials. Additionally, there are no pending proceedings, nor are there any currently effective agreements between Focus Cfo and third parties that could significantly limit a franchisee's use of these copyrighted materials. Focus Cfo is also unaware of any infringing uses of these materials that could materially affect a franchisee's use, and they are not obligated by any agreement to protect or defend any copyrights.

As a Focus Cfo franchisee, you are permitted to use these copyrighted materials only for the duration of your franchise agreement and as specified within that agreement. Focus Cfo retains the right to discontinue, modify, or change any of these items without any obligation to compensate the franchisee. This arrangement is typical in franchising, where the franchisor provides proprietary materials for the franchisee's use under specific conditions.
