What right does Focus CFO grant to qualified business entities?

According to Focus CFO's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Focus CFO grants qualified business entities the right to own a Focus CFO franchise and to market and offer CFO Services using the Focus CFO Marks as a Focus CFO Area President. This means that a franchisee, operating as a business entity, can use Focus CFO's brand and system to provide CFO services to small and medium-sized businesses.

The franchisee's equity owner must have the skills to perform as an Area President, and the franchisee must adhere to Focus CFO's standards of quality, operations, and service. The grant of the franchise is nonexclusive, meaning Focus CFO can appoint other franchisees in the same market. The franchisee operates as an independently operated business using the Focus CFO System and Marks.

Focus CFO requires the franchisee to operate as a business entity, such as a limited liability company, with one equity owner serving as the Area President. The Area President is responsible for generating new clients using Focus CFO's client development system. The Area President typically does not perform the CFO Services themselves; instead, these services are performed by CFOs who have a separate license agreement with Focus CFO.

However, a franchisee can also become a licensed CFO under a separate agreement or terminate the franchise agreement to apply for a CFO license. If the franchisee chooses to become a licensed CFO, Focus CFO will not refund any difference between the franchise fee and the license fee. Franchisees can hire administrative support staff with some restrictions on public-facing roles to protect the Focus CFO brand.
