What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Focus Cfo Franchise Disclosure Document, Focus Cfo does not provide general secretarial support to its franchisees. While Focus Cfo offers back-office administrative support resources, including client service agreement preparation, billing, and collections, franchisees are responsible for securing general secretarial support at their own expense if needed.
This means that a prospective Focus Cfo franchisee should factor in the cost of hiring administrative staff or outsourcing secretarial services when assessing the overall investment and operational expenses of the franchise. This is a fairly common arrangement in the franchise world, where franchisors often provide specific support related to their core business model but leave other administrative tasks to the franchisee.
Focus Cfo franchisees can hire employees or outside contractors for administrative support without needing written consent from Focus Cfo, but Focus CFO requires prior written approval for hiring any support resource designated as having a "public facing role" that utilizes the Focus CFO Marks. The franchisee is fully responsible for all Support Resources they hire and must comply with all employment laws and regulations. Franchisees must also ensure that Support Resources execute confidentiality, non-solicitation, and non-competition agreements, providing a copy to Focus CFO within ten business days of hiring.
