What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Focus Cfo Franchise Disclosure Document, if a franchisee hires employees or outside contractors ("Support Resources") for administrative support, Focus CFO requires prior written approval if the franchisee designates any of these support resources as having a "public facing role" that utilizes the Focus CFO Marks. This approval is necessary to protect the Focus CFO brand. The FDD does not explicitly define what constitutes a "public facing role."
In practical terms, this means that if a Focus Cfo franchisee intends to have a support staff member represent the brand to the public, such as in marketing, sales, or customer service capacities, they must first seek and obtain approval from Focus CFO. This requirement allows Focus CFO to maintain control over how its brand is presented and to ensure that anyone representing the company to the public meets their standards.
As a prospective franchisee, it would be prudent to seek clarification from Focus CFO regarding the specific criteria they use to determine what constitutes a "public facing role." Understanding these criteria will help in making informed decisions about hiring and assigning responsibilities to support staff. A franchisee should inquire about examples of roles that would be considered "public facing" and the specific approval process involved.
