What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Focus Cfo Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee may develop advertising materials for their own use and at their own cost. However, Focus Cfo requires that the franchisee obtain written approval for these advertising materials in advance. The franchisee may not use their own advertising materials unless they have received written notice of approval from Focus Cfo.
This means that while Focus Cfo allows franchisees some autonomy in creating their own advertising, they maintain control over brand messaging and consistency. This is a common practice in franchising, as it protects the overall brand image and ensures that all marketing efforts align with the company's standards.
Furthermore, if a Focus Cfo franchisee wants to use any marketing materials, including an internet presence or email campaigns, that utilize the Focus Cfo Marks or promote Focus Cfo Services, they must obtain written authorization from Focus Cfo. Focus Cfo also has a social media policy that all franchisees are required to follow, and any online content violating this policy must be removed within 24 hours of Focus Cfo's request. Prior written approval is needed to create any social networking account using the Focus Cfo Marks or promoting Focus Cfo Services, other than personal accounts.
These stipulations ensure that Focus Cfo maintains tight control over its brand identity and marketing strategies, requiring franchisees to adhere to specific guidelines and obtain prior approval for any marketing initiatives that utilize the company's trademarks or promote its services.
