What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Focus Cfo Franchise Disclosure Document, the 'Franchise' is defined as the nonexclusive right granted to the franchisee to join Focus Cfo as an independently operated business. This allows the franchisee to use the Focus Cfo System and Focus Cfo Marks. The Focus Cfo System includes proprietary business methods, techniques, formats, designs, specifications, standards, and procedures that Focus Cfo has developed.
As a Focus Cfo franchisee, you are expected to market and offer CFO Services as a Focus Cfo Area President. The agreement stipulates that the franchisee must operate as a business entity, such as a limited liability company, with one equity owner serving as the Area President. This Area President is responsible for generating new clients using Focus CFO's client development system and processes.
It's important to note that the Area President typically does not perform the CFO Services themselves. Instead, these services are provided by CFOs who have a separate non-exclusive license with Focus Cfo. However, a franchisee can also become a CFO under a separate licensing agreement, either while maintaining their role as an Area President on a limited basis or by terminating the Franchise Agreement and applying for a CFO license. This provides flexibility for franchisees who wish to be directly involved in providing CFO services.
