What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Focalpoint Coaching's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Technology Fee may be increased at any time by Focalpoint Coaching, provided that the franchisee receives prior written notice. The Technology Fee contributes to Focalpoint Coaching's costs associated with the creation, maintenance, and ongoing development of the intranet site and other technology used for the Franchise System.
Initially, upon execution of the agreement or when a franchisee retains or hires an associate, the franchisee must pay a non-refundable technology fee of $3,000, plus any applicable taxes. Additionally, franchisees pay an annual Technology Fee of $1,250, plus any applicable taxes, with an additional annual Technology Fee for each associate the franchisee retains or hires.
Franchisees begin paying the annual Technology Fee from the thirteenth month following the effective date of the agreement through the remainder of the term, with payments due on or before November 30th of each year. The ability for Focalpoint Coaching to increase this fee with written notice provides them with flexibility to adjust for changing technology costs, but it also introduces a degree of financial uncertainty for the franchisee, who must factor in potential fee increases when budgeting.
