Franchisee also agrees to pay for all travel and living expenses which Franchisee (or Franchisee's Managing Owner) and all of Franchisee's employees incur and for Franchisee's employees' wages and workers' compensation insurance in traveling to and from the designated training facility, except, if initial training is in-person, Franchisor will pay all supplied food and reasonable lodging expenses of Franchisee (or Franchisee's Managing Owner) and Franchisee's employees only while participating in the initial training program.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Focalpoint Coaching's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisee is generally responsible for covering travel and living expenses related to the initial training program. Specifically, the franchisee must pay for the travel, lodging, wages, and worker's compensation insurance for themselves (or their Managing Owner) and their employees while traveling to and from the designated training facility.

However, there is an exception: if the initial training is conducted in person, Focalpoint Coaching will cover the costs of supplied food and reasonable lodging for the franchisee (or their Managing Owner) and their employees while they are actively participating in the initial training program. This means the franchisee is still responsible for travel to and from the training location, as well as any expenses outside of food and lodging during the training itself.

Prospective Focalpoint Coaching franchisees should carefully consider these costs when budgeting for their initial investment. It's important to clarify with Focalpoint Coaching whether the initial training will be online or in-person, as this will significantly impact the out-of-pocket expenses for travel and lodging. Additionally, franchisees should factor in the wages and worker's compensation insurance for any employees attending the training, as these costs are always the franchisee's responsibility.
