- Your Office may be located in your residence. Your Office must primarily be used for the operation of the Franchised Business, but you may operate businesses that are not a competitive business (defined below) from your Office. If you choose to locate your Office in a non-residential location, the site location must meet our criteria for demographic characteristics; parking; character of neighborhood; competition from, proximity to, and nature of other businesses; size; appearance; and other physical and commercial characteristics. We may use reasonable efforts to assist you in designating the location of the Office, although we will not conduct site selection activities for you. If an Office has not been approved in writing by us as of the Effective Date of the Franchise Agreement, you agree to locate an Office acceptable to us and obtain our written approval of the location within 60 days following the Effective Date of the Franchise Agreement. We do not anticipate a situation where we would own the Site and lease it to you for the Office. If we and you cannot agree on an acceptable site and you do not open your Office within 60 days following the Effective Date of the Franchise Agreement, we may terminate the Franchise Agreement. (Franchise Agreement − Sections 1.D. and 14.B.)

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Focalpoint Coaching's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are not required to operate their office from a non-residential location. The FDD states that a franchisee's office may be located in their residence. However, the office must be primarily used for operating the Focalpoint Coaching franchised business. Franchisees can also operate other non-competitive businesses from the same office.
If a franchisee chooses to locate their Focalpoint Coaching office in a non-residential location, the site must meet specific criteria. These criteria include demographic characteristics, parking availability, the character of the neighborhood, competition from other businesses, proximity to other businesses, the size and appearance of the location, and other physical and commercial characteristics. While Focalpoint Coaching may offer assistance in designating the location of the office, they do not conduct site selection activities for franchisees.
If a franchisee and Focalpoint Coaching cannot agree on an acceptable site for a non-residential office, and the franchisee does not open their office within 60 days following the effective date of the Franchise Agreement, Focalpoint Coaching has the right to terminate the Franchise Agreement. Additionally, Focalpoint Coaching will inspect a franchisee's office and observe the franchised business's operation to help ensure compliance with the Franchise Agreement and all System Standards. If the office is located in a residence, inspections will only occur if the franchisee hosts clients at the office.
