Answer from 2025 FDD Document

Franchisee also agrees to pay for all travel and living expenses which Franchisee (or Franchisee's Managing Owner) and all of Franchisee's employees incur and for Franchisee's employees' wages and workers' compensation insurance in traveling to and from the designated training facility, except, if initial training is in-person, Franchisor will pay all supplied food and reasonable lodging expenses of Franchisee (or Franchisee's Managing Owner) and Franchisee's employees only while participating in the initial training program.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Focalpoint Coaching's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if the initial training program is provided in-person, Focalpoint Coaching will cover the costs of all supplied food and reasonable lodging expenses for the franchisee (or the franchisee's Managing Owner) and the franchisee's employees, but only while they are participating in the initial training program. However, the franchisee is responsible for all other expenses.

Specifically, the franchisee must cover the costs of travel to and from the designated training facility, living expenses beyond the supplied food and lodging, employee wages, and workers' compensation insurance for themselves (or their Managing Owner) and their employees. This means that while Focalpoint Coaching provides some support for in-person training, the franchisee still bears a significant financial burden.

This arrangement is fairly typical in the franchise industry, where franchisors often cover some training-related costs but expect franchisees to handle travel, wages, and other related expenses. Prospective Focalpoint Coaching franchisees should carefully budget for these out-of-pocket costs when planning for their initial training.
