What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Focalpoint Coaching's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the company does not expect to use Advertising and Development Fund contributions specifically to develop materials and programs to solicit franchisees. However, the FDD states that media, materials, and programs, including their website, prepared using Fund contributions may describe their franchise program, reference the availability of franchises and related information, and process franchise leads.
This means that while the primary intention of the fund is not direct franchisee recruitment, some overlap is possible. The fund is mainly for advertising, marketing, and public relations programs and materials. The franchisor has sole control over these programs, including creative concepts, materials, and media placement.
For a prospective franchisee, this implies that the advertising fees they pay may indirectly support franchise recruitment efforts. However, the FDD makes it clear that the fund is primarily for the benefit of existing franchisees by promoting the Focalpoint Coaching brand and services. Franchisees should request the annual, unaudited statement of Fund collections and expenses to understand how the contributions are being allocated.
