What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Focalpoint Coaching's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees or their managing owner, along with their Business Manager and other trained employees, must attend and complete various training courses to the franchisor's satisfaction. These courses are provided periodically, either online or in-person, at locations and times designated by Focalpoint Coaching. Additionally, franchisees may be required to attend an annual national meeting and an annual regional meeting, with in-person attendance at these meetings not exceeding 5 days in a calendar year. Franchisees are responsible for all travel, living expenses, and wages associated with attending these courses and meetings.

Before opening a Focalpoint Coaching franchise, the franchisee (or their managing owner) or their Business Manager must complete approximately 44 hours of initial training, which can be online or in-person at the discretion of Focalpoint Coaching. This initial training covers the operation of a Focalpoint Coaching Franchised Business. Failure to complete the initial training to Focalpoint Coaching's satisfaction may result in termination of the Franchise Agreement, with a potential refund of a portion of the initial franchise fee. The franchisee must pay an initial training fee of $16,950 upon signing the Franchise Agreement. Additional attendees beyond the first will incur further training charges.

Focalpoint Coaching may also require Associates and non-coaching employees to complete initial and ongoing training programs to the franchisor's satisfaction, with the franchisee potentially incurring fees for these training programs. The franchisee is responsible for all related travel and living expenses and wages for themselves and their employees attending these training programs. Focalpoint Coaching also offers refresher training courses periodically.

In summary, attendance at various training courses is indeed an obligation for the franchisee or their managing owner, as well as potentially for their employees. These training requirements are essential for maintaining the standards and operational effectiveness of the Focalpoint Coaching franchise system. The franchisee bears the financial responsibility for training fees, travel, lodging, and wages associated with these training programs.
