What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Fly To Fit's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, Fly To Fit does not charge a fee for its standard pre-opening training program. This training is made available to the Principal Executive and up to one additional team member. The training takes place at Fly To Fit's headquarters or at a Fly To Fit business designated by Fly To Fit. However, the franchisee is responsible for covering their own expenses related to travel, lodging, meals, and other out-of-pocket costs associated with attending the training. Fly To Fit retains the right to change the length and content of the initial training program depending on the experience and skill level of the individuals attending.
While Fly To Fit does not charge a fee for the initial pre-opening training, they may charge a fee for training programs after opening. Specifically, if a franchisee sends an employee to Fly To Fit's training program after the business has opened, Fly To Fit may charge its then-current training fee. As of the date of the Franchise Agreement, this fee is $350 per day. This post-opening training fee is separate from the initial pre-opening training, which is provided without charge.
This distinction is important for prospective franchisees to understand, as it affects their initial investment and ongoing operational costs. The initial training is a benefit that Fly To Fit offers without a direct fee, but franchisees need to budget for their travel and accommodation. Furthermore, franchisees should be aware of the potential costs for additional training of employees after the business is open, which could impact their financial planning. It is common in the franchise industry for franchisors to charge for ongoing training to ensure brand standards and operational consistency.
