What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Fly Fitness's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Initial Management Training Program is conducted periodically throughout the year, approximately every four weeks, as needed. The training takes place at Fly Fitness's headquarters or another location of their choosing.

This means that new Fly Fitness franchisees can expect training to be available relatively frequently, reducing potential delays in starting their business. The training is provided by experienced personnel such as Jenni Bruning Brown, the founder of Fly Fitness with over 20 years of industry experience, or Morgan Mattison, who oversees brand operations. This suggests franchisees will receive knowledgeable instruction.

The cost of instructors and training materials for up to three people is included in the initial franchise fee. However, franchisees are responsible for covering all travel and personal expenses, including transportation, meals, and lodging for themselves and their personnel. There is a fee of $400 per person for initial training for any additional trainees. This could represent a significant expense for franchisees, especially those located far from the training location or those who wish to train more than three individuals initially.

Fly Fitness also reserves the right to charge a reasonable fee for initial training provided to any manager appointed after the franchise opens, with a current fee of $400 per trainer per day, plus the manager's travel and personal expenses. This is an important consideration for franchisees who may need to replace or add managers in the future. On-site training is provided for up to five days at the opening of the franchised business at no additional cost.
