- 7.1 Initial Management Training Program.
Franchisee (specifically including all Franchisee's principals) and general manager, if any, shall attend and complete to Franchisor's sole and absolute satisfaction, Franchisor's initial management training program ("Initial Management Training Program") prior to the opening of the Franchised Business.
The Initial Management Training Program consists of classroom and handson training for up to five (5) days at Franchisor's headquarters or another location at Franchisor's discretion or virtually.
Franchisee must at all times during the term of this Agreement have principals and a general manager, if any, who have successfully completed the Initial Management Training Program to Franchisor's sole and complete satisfaction.
No charge shall be made for up to three (3) people to take the Initial Management Training Program prior to opening the Franchised Business ("Initial Trainees").
Notwithstanding the foregoing, Franchisee shall be required to pay all of the expenses of the Initial Trainees, including, without limitation, costs of travel, lodging, meals, and wages.
- 7.2 Satisfactory Completion.
Franchisor shall determine, in Franchisor's sole discretion, whether the Initial Trainees have satisfactorily completed the Initial Management Training Program.
If the Initial Management Training Program is not satisfactorily completed by the Initial Trainees, or if Franchisor, in Franchisor's reasonable business judgment based upon the performance of the Initial Trainees, determines that the Initial Management Training Program cannot be satisfactorily completed by Franchisee and Franchisee's Principal(s), Franchisor may terminate this Agreement.

What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Fly Fitness's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, up to three people can attend the initial management training program at no charge. These individuals are referred to as "Initial Trainees" and typically include the franchisee, their principals, and a general manager, if applicable. This training is mandatory and must be completed before the Fly Fitness franchise opens. The initial management training program consists of classroom and hands-on training for up to five days at Fly Fitness's headquarters, another location designated by Fly Fitness, or virtually.
While the training itself is provided at no charge for up to three people, the franchisee is responsible for covering all associated expenses for the Initial Trainees. These expenses include travel, lodging, meals, and wages. This could represent a significant upfront cost for new franchisees, as they must budget for these additional expenses on top of the franchise fee and other initial investments.
Fly Fitness determines, in its sole discretion, whether the Initial Trainees have satisfactorily completed the Initial Management Training Program. If the Initial Management Training Program is not satisfactorily completed by the Initial Trainees, or if Fly Fitness determines that the Initial Management Training Program cannot be satisfactorily completed by Franchisee and Franchisee's Principal(s), Fly Fitness may terminate the Franchise Agreement. This highlights the importance of thorough preparation and engagement during the training program to ensure compliance with Fly Fitness's standards and avoid potential termination of the franchise agreement.
