What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Fly Fitness's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, failure to attend mandatory training programs, including the annual conference or business meeting, constitutes a default under the Franchise Agreement. If a franchisee fails to attend any mandatory training program, they are required to obtain the training at a location designated by Fly Fitness.
The franchisee is responsible for covering all costs associated with obtaining the training, including tuition at the then-current rate. Additionally, the franchisee must pay for all of their travel costs, as well as the travel costs incurred by Fly Fitness's trainer.
This requirement ensures that all Fly Fitness franchisees receive the necessary training to maintain brand standards and operational consistency, even if they miss the initial scheduled sessions. The financial burden placed on the franchisee for non-attendance serves as an incentive to prioritize and attend the mandatory training programs. This policy is fairly standard in the franchise industry, as franchisors need to ensure consistent quality and service across all locations.
