What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Fly Fitness's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisor has the sole discretion to determine whether a franchisee has satisfactorily completed the initial training program. This initial management training program is five days long and must be completed by the franchisee (if an individual) or all owners (if a business entity) and the general manager before opening the franchised business.
The training is conducted at Fly Fitness's headquarters or another location at their discretion. The cost of instructors and training materials for up to three people is included in the initial franchise fee. However, franchisees are responsible for covering all travel and personal expenses, such as transportation, meals, and lodging for themselves and their personnel.
Fly Fitness also provides a trainer for on-site training, supervision, and assistance with daily operations, local marketing, and the grand opening at the opening of the franchised business. This on-site training lasts for up to five days at no additional cost to the franchisee. The FDD also states that Fly Fitness may conduct mandatory or optional additional training programs, including an annual conference or national business meeting, which franchisees may be required to attend.
