What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Fly Fitness's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, coaches employed by the franchisee, including the franchisee or a principal if they provide fitness instruction, must obtain personal training certifications within 90 days of their hiring date. These certifications must be issued by a nationally recognized organization that Fly Fitness approves.
This requirement ensures that all fitness instructors meet a minimum standard of competence and adhere to the brand's quality standards. The franchisee bears the responsibility for ensuring that all coaches, including themselves if they are instructing, meet this certification requirement within the specified timeframe.
Furthermore, the franchisee is also responsible for covering the costs associated with any continuing education or training programs necessary for their coaches (and themselves, if applicable) to maintain their personal training certifications. This ongoing education requirement helps ensure that Fly Fitness instructors stay up-to-date with current fitness practices and maintain their credentials.
