What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Fly Fitness's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, Fly Fitness provides standards for employee qualifications and training but does not otherwise assist with employee hiring. This means that while Fly Fitness sets the bar for the type of employees franchisees should be looking for and how they should be trained, the responsibility of finding and hiring those employees falls solely on the franchisee.
However, the Fly Fitness Franchise Operations Manual includes a section on Human Resources. This section provides guidance on recruiting staff, generating applicants, reviewing applications, the interview process, sample interview questions, background and reference check procedures, and job descriptions. The manual also includes information on hiring on a trial period, orientation, new employee paperwork, and training new employees.
For a prospective franchisee, this means they will need to develop their own hiring strategies and processes. While Fly Fitness offers guidelines and resources within the operations manual, the franchisee is ultimately responsible for all aspects of recruitment, interviewing, and selection. This could involve advertising job openings, conducting interviews, performing background checks, and making hiring decisions. Franchisees should factor in the time and costs associated with these activities when planning their business operations.
