Answer from 2025 FDD Document

The FTG membership concept is intended for and directed towards the experienced owner/operator of an existing floor covering store, and accordingly FTG does not provide site selection, business financing, employee training, or management supervision before or after the execution of any FTG membership agreements. The FTG System competes with other national floor covering marketing and merchandising systems.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Floors To Go Franchise Disclosure Document, the FTG membership concept is specifically designed for experienced owner/operators already running a floor covering store. This focus means that Floors To Go does not offer standard support services that are often provided to new franchisees.

Specifically, Floors To Go does not provide site selection assistance, which is a common service in many franchise systems where the franchisor helps the franchisee find a suitable location. Similarly, Floors To Go does not offer business financing assistance, which could be a significant hurdle for individuals without prior business experience or established financial relationships. The lack of employee training programs and management supervision, both before and after the membership agreement is signed, further emphasizes the expectation that members already possess the necessary skills and knowledge to operate their business effectively.

This approach differs from many franchise models that offer comprehensive support to franchisees, particularly those new to the industry. The Floors To Go model assumes a level of pre-existing competence and independence, which can be both a benefit and a risk. Experienced operators may appreciate the autonomy and lack of oversight, while those new to the floor covering business may find the lack of support challenging. Prospective members should carefully consider their own experience level and resources before joining the Floors To Go system.
