Is a Floors To Go franchisee prohibited from managing a business that competes with Floors To Go?

According to the 2025 Floors To Go Franchise Disclosure Document, Floors To Go will not prevent a franchisee from offering other floor covering or window treatment products for sale along with those products available through the FTG System. Floors To Go also will not restrict franchisees from marketing or soliciting customers outside of their designated territory. However, franchisees may face competition from other outlets that Floors To Go franchises or owns, or from other channels of distribution or competitive brands Floors To Go controls, within the franchisee's territory, including competition from the FTG Shop At Home program.

This means that a Floors To Go franchisee has the flexibility to sell products outside of the FTG system and market to customers outside of their territory. However, the franchisee should be aware that they may face competition from Floors To Go's other franchisees, company-owned outlets, or other distribution channels within their territory.

It is important to note that while Floors To Go does not restrict franchisees from selling competing products or marketing outside their territory, the franchisee must still operate their business in a manner that does not impair the goodwill associated with the FTG Marks. Additionally, the franchisee cannot incorporate the words "Floors To Go" or any other names, marks, or logos associated therewith as part of their legal business name.
