What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Fitstop's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, there are no contractual limitations regarding the frequency and cost for franchisees to upgrade and maintain their computer systems. Fitstop may require updates and upgrades to the computer system and/or required software during the franchise agreement term. These updates to hardware, software, and other computer system components are at the franchisee's expense. Fitstop will provide reasonable advance notice, typically 60 or more days, via the manuals or in writing before these updates are required.
Fitstop estimates franchisees may spend an average of $500 to $1,500 annually from the date of acquisition on updates and maintenance to the computer system hardware, including non-material upgrades. This does not include the initial pre-opening costs for the computer system, which are estimated to be between $3,000 and $7,000.
While there are no contractual limitations, Fitstop does not currently have specific ongoing maintenance or support contract requirements other than working with their third-party approved supplier for billing/collection and related services. Franchisees should factor in the potential for frequent and potentially costly upgrades when assessing the financial viability of a Fitstop franchise.
