What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Fitstop's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must maintain their facility and all fixtures, furnishings, signs, and equipment in good order and condition. This maintenance must conform to Fitstop's System Standards, as detailed in their Manuals or other written directives, plans, and/or designs. These standards are provided when the franchisee secures a lease for their approved Premises, and potentially at any time after the lease is signed.
In practical terms, this means a Fitstop franchisee needs to ensure their location is consistently well-maintained and adheres to the brand's standards for appearance and functionality. This includes everything from the condition of the workout equipment to the cleanliness of the facility and the proper display of signage. Franchisees should pay close attention to the Fitstop manuals and any written directives they receive, as these will outline the specific requirements for maintaining the facility.
It is also important to note that these standards are not static. Fitstop may update or modify these standards over time, and franchisees are responsible for the costs associated with complying with any such modifications. This could potentially involve expenses for new equipment, updated signage, or facility renovations to meet the updated System Standards. Therefore, prospective franchisees should factor in potential future costs for upgrades and maintenance to remain compliant with Fitstop's evolving standards.
