What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Fitstop's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must secure and maintain all necessary licenses and permits to legally operate their Fitstop franchise. Furthermore, franchisees are obligated to comply with all orders, laws, regulations, rules, and directives issued by federal, state, county, or municipal authorities. This includes adherence to OSHA and other health and safety requirements.
Specifically, Fitstop requires franchisees to notify them within 24 hours of any legal requirements or developments affecting the franchise, as well as any government orders, the reasons for those orders, and the corrective actions the franchisee has taken or plans to take. This quick notification ensures that Fitstop is aware of any potential legal issues and can provide support or guidance to the franchisee.
During the build-out phase, Fitstop franchisees must verify compliance with all laws and regulations imposed by local, state, and federal agencies. This includes securing appropriate insurance and ensuring that the build-out adheres to Fitstop's specifications in the manuals and all government regulatory requirements. These measures ensure that the franchise location is legally compliant from the outset.
Enforcement of these requirements is maintained through the franchise agreement, which stipulates that failure to comply with laws and regulations constitutes a breach of contract. Fitstop also monitors compliance through required reporting and site visits, ensuring franchisees maintain standards and adhere to legal obligations. Additionally, Fitstop provides ongoing consultation to franchisees on operational, advertising, and administrative matters, which includes guidance on legal compliance.
