What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Fitstop's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee's conviction in a criminal action can lead to specific consequences regarding their franchise agreement. Specifically, such a conviction is considered 'unfavorable conduct' that could reflect negatively on the Fitstop franchise system.

Fitstop outlines that if a franchisee or their franchise owners are convicted of a criminal action, it can be grounds for termination of the franchise agreement. This is listed alongside other actions that could damage the reputation of the franchise, such as libelous statements, failure to pay royalties, violation of non-compete agreements, or being under the influence of drugs or alcohol on-site.

This clause highlights the importance of maintaining a clean criminal record for both the franchisee and their franchise owners. A criminal conviction is a serious matter that Fitstop views as a potential risk to its brand and the overall franchise system. Prospective franchisees should understand that their actions, and the actions of their franchise owners, can have direct consequences on their franchise agreement and their ability to operate a Fitstop business.
