What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Fitstop's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, site selection and real estate services are recommended, but not necessarily required. Fitstop maintains the right to mandate that franchisees purchase certain items or services from approved suppliers, which may include themselves or their affiliates.
Fitstop expects to have approved suppliers for various items franchisees need to purchase, including furniture, fixtures, equipment, supplies, software, technology, signage, inventory, branded items, marketing materials, music licensing services, and project management services. However, project management services associated with the buildout and design of the franchised business are optional, not required.
Fitstop requires franchisees to secure a premises that meets their approval based on their site selection criteria, to the extent that these criteria are provided in writing. This means that while franchisees might not be obligated to use Fitstop's real estate services, they must still find a location that Fitstop approves. This ensures that all Fitstop locations meet the brand's standards and specifications, maintaining consistency across the franchise system.
Prospective franchisees should clarify the specific site selection criteria and the process for obtaining Fitstop's approval for a location. Understanding these requirements is crucial for making informed decisions about real estate and ensuring compliance with Fitstop's standards.
