What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Fitstop's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, a Designated Manager or General Manager is the individual you appoint to handle the day-to-day operations and management of your Fitstop franchise. Fitstop requires that this individual participate in and complete all components of the initial training program. Fitstop may also require that at least two individuals, including you or the Franchise Operator (if the franchisee is a business entity), complete the initial training program before opening the franchise.

This requirement ensures that someone is properly trained to manage the Fitstop business according to the franchisor's standards. As a franchisee, you are responsible for all costs and expenses associated with the training of yourself and your personnel, including wages. This includes remote training, corporate training, and initial on-site training.

Fitstop also requires that any personnel you wish to appoint as an Authorized Instructor participate in and successfully complete their proprietary Instructor Training program, which is currently provided remotely. These instructors must also attend all portions of the Initial On-Site Training provided to you and your franchise personnel around the time of your opening. Furthermore, Fitstop may require you and your Designated Manager to attend annual additional or refresher courses, as well as remedial training if necessary to correct any defaults under the Franchise Agreement. You may also have to pay a training fee of $500 per day per trainer for this additional or remedial training.
