What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Fitstop's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, Fitstop can require franchisees to transfer any communications number to them at any time and for any reason. This includes telephone numbers used for the franchise location. The franchisee is responsible for the costs associated with installing and using communication systems specified by Fitstop.
Fitstop can request in writing that the franchisee install and use specific telephone and communication systems, including point-of-sale hardware and software. Franchisees must also change or upgrade these systems if Fitstop deems them obsolete. Additionally, franchisees must ensure these systems are secure from unauthorized access.
Franchisees are obligated to pay all charges related to telecommunications services and must change, substitute, or discontinue using any communications number if Fitstop requests it. This gives Fitstop significant control over the communication methods used by the franchise and allows them to make changes as they see fit, which could impact how customers contact the Fitstop location.
