What are the potential benefits of attending the Fitstop annual convention (Item 6), and how do these benefits contribute to the franchisee's ability to build relationships with suppliers and negotiate favorable pricing?
Fitstop Franchise · 2024 FDDAnswer from 2024 FDD Document
We will schedule and hold an annual conference, as and when we deem advisable in our sole discretion, to discuss the current state of the System, improvements to the System, hold discussion forums for System franchisees and recognize certain franchisees.
In the event we schedule a conference, we may require you to attend for up to five (5) days each year.
You will be responsible for the costs and expenses you incur in connection with any annual conference/convention (lodging, travel, meals, etc.), as well as applicable attendance/registration fees disclosed more fully in Item 6 above.
We will display the contact information of your Franchised Business on the website that we or our designee maintains to advertise and promote our brand, our Proprietary Marks and other Franchised Business locations, provided you follow the terms of your Franchise Agreement.
What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Fitstop's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the annual conference serves as a platform to discuss the current state of the Fitstop system, explore improvements, facilitate discussion forums among franchisees, and recognize outstanding franchisees. While the FDD mentions the annual conference as a forum for franchisees, it does not explicitly state that the annual convention offers opportunities to build relationships with suppliers and negotiate favorable pricing.
Fitstop may require franchisees to attend the annual conference for up to five days each year. Franchisees are responsible for covering all costs associated with attending the annual conference, including lodging, travel, meals, and registration fees. To help franchisees manage these costs, Fitstop may require a monthly contribution to the convention fund, set at $150 per month.
While the FDD does not directly address how the annual convention helps franchisees build relationships with suppliers and negotiate better pricing, it does state that Fitstop may negotiate purchase arrangements, including price terms, with designated and Approved Suppliers on behalf of the System. Fitstop may also establish strategic alliances or preferred vendor programs with suppliers. Franchisees may also propose to use alternate sources of supply, but Fitstop retains the right to approve or disapprove these requests to ensure quality and consistency within the Fitstop system.
