What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Fitstop's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, Fitstop owns the member information collected by its franchisees. The franchisee is required to collect member information as specified in the manuals or in writing by Fitstop, and they must collect it only in the manner Fitstop specifies. Franchisees cannot store or keep member information in external documents or databases outside of Fitstop's system.
Fitstop requires franchisees to provide all member information in a specified format at the end of each calendar month or within 24 hours of a written request. This ensures Fitstop has consistent access to the data. Fitstop may also establish and maintain a member database to store this information.
This arrangement allows Fitstop to maintain control over customer data, which is crucial for marketing, analytics, and maintaining brand consistency across all franchise locations. It also allows Fitstop to manage a member loyalty program effectively. The franchisee must also obtain necessary consents from individuals providing personal information to comply with privacy obligations.
