What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Fitstop's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must provide updates and reports throughout the build-out of their Franchised Business and Premises. The frequency of these updates is determined by the schedule outlined in the Manuals. If no specific timeline is provided in the Manuals, franchisees must provide updates no less than once every two calendar weeks.
This requirement ensures that Fitstop maintains oversight over the construction and development of each franchise location. By mandating regular updates, Fitstop can monitor progress, ensure compliance with system standards, and address any potential issues that may arise during the build-out process. This helps to maintain consistency across all franchise locations and uphold the brand's image and operational standards.
For a prospective Fitstop franchisee, this means they need to be prepared to communicate regularly with Fitstop during the initial construction phase. They should clarify whether a specific reporting schedule exists in the Manuals. If not, they should plan to submit updates at least every two weeks. These updates likely include progress reports, photographs, and documentation related to the construction, ensuring Fitstop is well-informed about the development of the franchisee's location.
Furthermore, the franchisee must also provide Fitstop with, and receive their consent regarding, the build-out plans. This includes the plans, design, contractors, budget, and timeframe for completing the build-out. This upfront approval process, combined with ongoing updates, allows Fitstop to maintain control over the build-out process and ensure that each location meets their standards and specifications.
