Answer from 2024 FDD Document

  • 9.8 Upgrading Premises, Furniture, Fixture, Equipment ("FFE") and/or Other Required Items. Where reasonably necessary to protect our legitimate commercial interest, we may change any brand standard so as to require an upgrade of the Premises, FFE and/or any other Required Item used to initially build out and equip the Franchised Business. When this occurs, we require you to perform these upgrades at your cost within 180 calendar days of when we notify you of such upgrades via the Manuals or otherwise in writing to similarly-situated System franchisees.

What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Fitstop's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, Fitstop may require franchisees to upgrade their premises, furniture, fixtures, equipment (FFE), or other required items if it is reasonably necessary to protect Fitstop's legitimate commercial interest. Fitstop will notify franchisees of these required upgrades via the Manuals or in writing to similarly-situated System franchisees.

Franchisees are responsible for performing these upgrades at their own cost. Once notified, franchisees have 180 calendar days to complete the required upgrades. This timeframe allows franchisees a reasonable period to budget for and implement the changes necessary to comply with Fitstop's evolving brand standards.

This policy ensures that all Fitstop locations maintain a consistent brand image and meet current system standards, which is common in franchising. Franchisees should be prepared to invest in upgrades periodically to keep their locations aligned with Fitstop's requirements. It is important for prospective franchisees to factor in potential upgrade costs when evaluating the financial feasibility of a Fitstop franchise.
