What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Fitstop's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, Fitstop may hold an annual conference and require franchisees to attend for up to five days each year. The conference is scheduled at Fitstop's discretion to discuss the current state and improvements to the Fitstop system, provide a forum for franchisees, and recognize certain franchisees.
Prospective Fitstop franchisees should note that attendance at this conference is not just a suggestion but may be a mandatory requirement. This means franchisees must factor in the time commitment of up to five days when planning their business operations. Failing to attend could potentially lead to issues with compliance under the franchise agreement.
Furthermore, the FDD specifies that franchisees are responsible for all costs associated with attending the annual conference. These costs include lodging, travel, meals, and any applicable attendance or registration fees. Therefore, franchisees need to budget for these expenses in addition to the time away from their business. This is a fairly standard practice in franchising, as annual conferences are often seen as a valuable opportunity for training, networking, and staying updated on the latest developments within the franchise system.
