What does the low end of the training-related costs estimate for Fitstop assume?
Fitstop Franchise · 2024 FDDAnswer from 2024 FDD Document
This is the estimated range of costs that a new System franchisee can expect to incur in connection with attending the Corporate Training portion of our Initial Training Program at our designated corporate training location (currently located in California). The low end of this estimate assumes that you or your operating principal will be the only person attending the Corporate Training and that the franchisee resides close enough that no major flight costs will be incurred. The high end of this estimate assumes that you and possibly one (1) other person (either your Designated Manager and/or lead Authorized Instructor) will attend the Corporate Training and that the attendees' travel costs will include standard airfare and lodging at one (1) of the hotels that we recommend nearby the Corporate Training location.

What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Fitstop's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the low end of the estimated range for training-related costs and expenses assumes specific conditions regarding attendance and travel. The estimate ranges from $1,000 to $7,500, and the lower end presumes that only one person, either the franchisee or their operating principal, will attend the corporate training. It further assumes that this individual resides close enough to the training location (currently in California) that significant flight costs will not be incurred. This can significantly reduce the initial investment for franchisees who meet these criteria.
For a prospective Fitstop franchisee, this means that if you are local to the training center and you alone attend the training, you can expect to pay closer to the $1,000 end of the training cost spectrum. However, if you need to fly in from out of state and send additional staff members, your costs will likely be closer to the $7,500 high end. It is important to consider your location and staffing plans when budgeting for these initial training expenses.
This approach to estimating training costs is fairly standard in the franchise industry, where costs are often scaled based on the number of attendees and their travel requirements. Franchisees should confirm the exact location of the training, the number of required attendees, and potential travel and lodging costs to accurately estimate their expenses. It is also important to note that these training-related costs are to be paid to third-party providers for travel, lodging, meals, and local transportation.
