What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Fitstop's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, once a franchisee has opened their Fitstop location, Fitstop may charge a training fee for ongoing additional or refresher training, as well as for new or replacement instructor training. This means that while initial training to get the franchise up and running may be included, any subsequent training to improve skills, update knowledge, or train new instructors could incur additional costs.

This policy is fairly common in franchising, as it allows the franchisor to maintain quality and consistency across all locations while also providing franchisees with opportunities to enhance their business and staff capabilities. However, it's important for prospective Fitstop franchisees to budget for these potential training expenses and understand the circumstances under which these fees may be charged.

Franchisees should inquire about the typical frequency and cost of these additional training programs to get a clearer picture of the ongoing investment required. Understanding the specific situations that would necessitate additional training, such as the introduction of new fitness programs or changes in operational procedures, will also help franchisees plan and manage their expenses effectively. This proactive approach will ensure that franchisees are well-prepared for the financial implications of continuous improvement and staff development within the Fitstop system.
