What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Fitstop's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are solely responsible for the costs associated with complying with any modifications to the Fitstop system. This means that if Fitstop decides to change its standards, specifications, or methods of operation, the franchisee must bear the financial burden of implementing those changes.

This could include costs related to new equipment, software upgrades, additional training for staff, or changes to the physical layout of the premises. The FDD states that Fitstop may change its system standards and specifications from time to time, as it deems appropriate or necessary in its sole discretion. This gives Fitstop considerable latitude in making changes, and franchisees have little recourse but to comply and pay for the associated costs.

For a prospective Fitstop franchisee, this highlights the importance of carefully considering the potential for future costs associated with system modifications. It would be prudent to inquire about the frequency and scope of past system changes, as well as any anticipated changes in the near future. Understanding the potential financial impact of these changes is crucial for making an informed investment decision. Franchisees should also factor in a budget for potential system modifications when projecting their operating expenses.
