What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Fitstop's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisee is responsible for equipping and maintaining the premises to Fitstop's standards. The franchisee must ensure the premises are equipped according to Fitstop's specifications and that all equipment complies with Fitstop's requirements and professional standards. This includes operating and maintaining the premises and equipment in first-class condition, adhering to industry standards, and promptly correcting any deviations from those standards. The franchisee is also responsible for replacing flooring if Fitstop deems it necessary and for repairing or replacing fixtures, fittings, equipment, and lighting to comply with lease requirements and Fitstop's presentation standards.

Fitstop may require franchisees to upgrade the premises, furniture, fixtures, equipment, or other required items to maintain brand standards. Franchisees are responsible for performing these upgrades at their own cost within 180 calendar days of notification from Fitstop. This ensures that all Fitstop locations maintain a consistent and up-to-date image, which is common in franchising to protect the brand's reputation.

Furthermore, if a Fitstop franchisee needs to relocate, they are responsible for fitting out the new premises to conform to Fitstop's prevailing image and standards at their own cost. The franchisee is also responsible for installing and using telephone and communication systems, as well as computer hardware and software, specified by Fitstop. They must also upgrade these systems as required by Fitstop. These obligations ensure that the franchisee's location aligns with Fitstop's brand standards and operational requirements, contributing to a consistent customer experience across all locations.
