What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Fitstop's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to engage licensed contractors for the initial build-out of their premises. Specifically, the franchisee must engage competent, licensed contractors to complete the build-out work in a proper and workmanlike manner, ensuring timely completion.

Furthermore, the franchisee is responsible for managing and supervising the build-out to ensure it is completed by competent, licensed tradesmen. This includes ensuring the build-out complies with all standards specified in Fitstop's manuals and all governmental regulatory requirements. The franchisee is also responsible for correcting any defects in the build-out and verifying compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Prior to commencing the build-out, franchisees must provide Fitstop with the build-out plans, including the design, the contractors to be employed, the budget, and the timeframe for completion. Fitstop must then provide consent with respect to these plans. This requirement ensures that the build-out meets Fitstop's standards and complies with all relevant regulations, with the franchisee bearing the responsibility for proper execution and compliance.
