What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Fitstop's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees have several obligations regarding personnel training. Initially, Fitstop provides training to the franchisee and up to two additional individuals, such as a General Manager, without a training fee, provided they complete the Initial Training Program to Fitstop's satisfaction before opening the Franchised Business or providing services. If there is a change in the Franchise Operator or General Manager, the new individual must also complete the Initial Training Program, potentially incurring a training fee.

Furthermore, franchisees must ensure that any personnel providing fitness training or instruction, referred to as Authorized Instructors, participate in and successfully complete Fitstop's proprietary Instructor Training program before offering any fitness-related services. Fitstop offers Instructor Training tuition-free for up to five prospective Authorized Instructors as part of the initial franchise fee. However, any replacement or new personnel intended to serve as Authorized Instructors must complete the Instructor Training, which may incur Fitstop's then-current Training Fee.

Fitstop may also require franchisees and their General Managers to attend seminars, supplementary trainings, meetings, conferences, and annual conventions. The franchisee is responsible for all fees and costs associated with these events. Additionally, franchisees must hire and train a sufficient number of personnel to adequately manage the Franchise and provide quality customer service. Fitstop may use mystery shoppers to evaluate the Franchise's conduct, and franchisees must correct any deficiencies within 24 hours of notification.

These training requirements ensure that all Fitstop locations maintain consistent brand standards and service quality. Franchisees should budget for ongoing training expenses and ensure that all staff members meet Fitstop's training criteria to avoid potential penalties or operational issues. Compliance with these training obligations is critical for the success of the Fitstop franchise and adherence to the Franchise System.
