What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Fitstop's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are responsible for correcting any defects in the buildout of their franchise location. This obligation is part of a broader set of responsibilities related to the construction and maintenance of the premises.
Specifically, Fitstop franchisees must manage and supervise the buildout, ensuring it is completed by licensed tradesmen in a proper and workmanlike manner. They also need to secure appropriate insurance during the buildout process and ensure that the buildout adheres to all requirements specified by Fitstop in its manuals, as well as any applicable government regulations. Furthermore, franchisees must verify compliance with all laws and regulations imposed by local, state, and federal agencies.
In addition to correcting defects, Fitstop franchisees are responsible for paying all amounts due in connection with the buildout and other development activities, which may include payments to Fitstop's approved suppliers. This comprehensive oversight ensures that the Fitstop location meets the brand's standards and complies with all legal requirements from the outset.
