What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Fitstop's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must generally use advertising materials approved by Fitstop. However, there is an exception for local marketing efforts.
Specifically, while Fitstop franchisees must actively promote their franchise and canvass potential members, they are not allowed to arrange, authorize, or carry out any advertising unless Fitstop approves the form and content in writing. The exception to this is if the advertising is 'required by law'.
This means that Fitstop franchisees have limited autonomy in their advertising strategies and must adhere to Fitstop's guidelines, except where advertising is mandated by law. This ensures brand consistency across all Fitstop franchises but may also limit a franchisee's ability to tailor marketing to their specific local market without prior approval from Fitstop.
