What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Fitstop's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, Fitstop has the right to discontinue the operation of its website at any time without providing any prior notice to its franchisees. Fitstop may display the contact information of a franchisee's business on its website, but this is contingent on the franchisee adhering to the terms of their Franchise Agreement.
This policy means that Fitstop franchisees rely on the franchisor to maintain the website. The franchisor can remove the website without notice. This could impact a franchisee's ability to reach customers and market their business if they rely on the Fitstop website for leads.
Furthermore, franchisees are restricted from creating their own websites or social media content that references Fitstop without written consent from the company. Franchisees are permitted to upload content to a subpage on the Fitstop website to promote their specific location, but Fitstop can cease making the subpage available at any time. This level of control over online presence is common in franchising, as franchisors seek to maintain brand consistency and manage the customer experience.
