What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Fitstop's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, Fitstop has the right to charge franchisees a training fee for ongoing training. Specifically, Fitstop can act as the approved supplier for any ongoing additional and/or refresher training, and/or new or replacement instructor training, that occurs once a franchisee has opened their Fitstop location. For this training, Fitstop may charge its then-current training fee for the kind of training at issue.

This means that after a Fitstop franchisee's initial training, they may be required to participate in additional training sessions to stay updated on the latest fitness trends, Fitstop's operational procedures, or to train new instructors. These training sessions are not free; Fitstop can charge a fee for them. The FDD does not specify how often these trainings might occur or how much they might cost, so it is important for a prospective franchisee to discuss this with Fitstop.

As with many franchise systems, Fitstop maintains control over training to ensure consistency and quality across all locations. By designating itself as the approved supplier for ongoing training, Fitstop ensures that franchisees adhere to its standards and methods. While this arrangement allows Fitstop to generate revenue through training fees, it also helps franchisees maintain a high level of service and expertise, which can benefit their business in the long run.

Prospective Fitstop franchisees should inquire about the frequency, content, and cost of these ongoing training programs to fully understand the financial implications. Understanding these costs is crucial for budgeting and forecasting the profitability of their Fitstop franchise.
