What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Fitstop's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee must secure written approval from Fitstop for their proposed business premises before securing the location. Fitstop's standard franchise offering assumes the premises will be between 1,800 and 3,000 square feet in size, have ample parking for members, and be located in a larger shopping venue as an in-line or end-cap location, provided the lease terms are commercially reasonable.

This requirement means that prospective Fitstop franchisees cannot finalize a lease or purchase agreement for a location without Fitstop's explicit consent. This approval process allows Fitstop to ensure that the location meets its brand standards and has the potential to attract the target market. It also protects the franchisee from investing in a site that Fitstop deems unsuitable, which could negatively impact the business's success.

The FDD specifies certain criteria that Fitstop expects the premises to meet, including size, parking availability, and location type. These criteria provide franchisees with a clear understanding of what Fitstop considers an acceptable site. By setting these standards, Fitstop aims to maintain consistency across all franchise locations and ensure a positive experience for customers.

Prospective franchisees should carefully consider these site selection requirements and work closely with Fitstop to identify and secure an appropriate location. Understanding Fitstop's criteria and approval process is crucial for a smooth and successful launch of the franchise.
