Does Fitstop allow franchisees to expend more than the suggested amount for rent in premium locations?

Fitstop Franchise · 2024 FDD

Answer from 2024 FDD Document

Rent for each franchised business is dependent on size, quality and position of Premises and local market conditions. This amount will vary depending on Lease negotiations between the landlord and the franchisee (as tenant) and, again, our standard franchise offering and Chart above assumes that your Premises will be between 1,800 and 3,000 square feet is size. For certain premium location(s) in urban areas, you or other System franchisees may choose to expend more than the amounts suggested herein but such a decision would need to be approved by Franchisor and may be beyond the scope of Franchisor's standard franchise offering (and this range disclosed this Chart).

What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Fitstop's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees may choose to spend more than the suggested rental amounts for premium locations in urban areas. However, such a decision requires approval from Fitstop and may fall outside the scope of Fitstop's standard franchise offering. The standard franchise offering assumes the premises will be between 1,800 and 3,000 square feet in size.

The FDD also states that rent for each franchised business depends on the size, quality, and position of the premises, as well as local market conditions. The actual amount will vary based on lease negotiations between the landlord and the franchisee. The estimated initial investment for rent for 4 months after opening is between $20,000 and $50,000.

This indicates that while Fitstop provides a standard franchise offering with certain assumptions about rent and premises size, there is flexibility for franchisees to pursue premium locations with higher rents, subject to Fitstop's approval. Prospective franchisees should carefully consider the potential benefits and costs of such locations and discuss their plans with Fitstop to ensure they align with the franchise's requirements and guidelines.
