What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Fat Shack's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, training for a replacement General Manager is provided at Fat Shack's discretion during the term of the Franchise Agreement. Fat Shack reserves the right to charge a tuition or fee for training, which is payable in advance, according to their then-current published prices. The franchisee is responsible for covering all travel and living expenses for their personnel during the training program.
The availability of the training programs depends on the availability of training staff, space considerations, and prior commitments to new Fat Shack franchisees. This means that even if a franchisee is willing to pay for the training, Fat Shack may not be able to provide it due to scheduling or resource constraints.
In addition to General Manager training, Fat Shack may require the franchisee or their General Manager, along with other managers, to attend meetings, seminars, or conferences to discuss topics such as advertising programs, new operations methods, training, management, sales, or sales promotion. Fat Shack may charge a tuition fee for attending these additional training programs, which will not exceed $1,000 per Additional Meeting. Attendance is optional unless Fat Shack provides 30 days' prior written notice that it is mandatory, and they will not require attendance at training programs or seminars more than twice a year.
