What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Fat Shack's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, proper management of the Fat Shack restaurant is considered important. The franchisee, or if the franchisee is a business entity, its Managing Owner, must ensure that either they or a General Manager is responsible for the restaurant's management. This designated individual must also complete the initial training program. Furthermore, the franchisee (or its Managing Owner) must be present at the restaurant location during operating hours.

For franchisees who are corporations, partnerships, or LLCs, the Managing Owner is defined as the managing shareholder, partner, or member. This Managing Owner, along with the General Manager, must attend and successfully complete Fat Shack's initial training program. Up to three individuals, including the Managing Owner and General Manager, can attend the initial training without incurring tuition or fees. However, the franchisee is responsible for covering all travel and living expenses associated with the training, as well as any wages or salaries for the individuals being trained.

Fat Shack also requires that each General Manager and other employees with access to the Operations Manual sign a Nondisclosure and Noncompetition Agreement. A copy of this signed agreement must be sent to Fat Shack. This requirement ensures that confidential information is protected and that employees are bound by non-compete obligations, safeguarding Fat Shack's business interests.
