What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Fat Shack's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the initial franchise fee is estimated to be a flat $35,000. This fee is paid in a lump sum when signing the Franchise Agreement and is payable to Fat Shack. This fee is non-refundable.
It is important to note that this fee applies to a standard Franchise Agreement. If a prospective franchisee enters into an Area Development Agreement to open multiple Fat Shack locations, the initial franchise fee structure changes for subsequent locations. The initial franchise fee for each additional Fat Shack restaurant opened under a Development Agreement is $18,000. A credit of $5,000 from the Development Fee is applied towards the Initial Franchise Fee for each additional restaurant.
Therefore, while the initial franchise fee for the first location is $35,000, franchisees should carefully review Item 5 of the FDD for a complete understanding of all fees and payment terms, especially if considering an Area Development Agreement.
