What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Fat Shack's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Fat Shack will provide an initial starting package of materials to franchisees. However, this is only provided upon the franchisee's payment for the package. This assistance is not provided if the franchisee is exercising successor franchise rights for a Fat Shack Restaurant that is already in operation.

Prior to opening a Fat Shack Restaurant, Fat Shack offers several forms of assistance, including providing specifications for the restaurant's site, advice regarding standards and specifications for the build out, interior design, layout, floor plan, signs, design, color, and decoration of the restaurant's premises, and advice regarding standards and specifications for the equipment, supplies, and materials used in the restaurant. Fat Shack will also train the franchisee, or their designated General Manager, plus up to two other persons designated by the franchisee in Fort Collins, Colorado, Boulder, Colorado, or at another location Fat Shack designates.

Fat Shack will also advise franchisees about approved suppliers of fixtures, supplies, equipment, menu boards, posters, interior signs and graphics, and materials used in and products sold through their Fat Shack Restaurant. Additionally, Fat Shack will loan the franchisee one copy of their Operations Manual covering the operating and marketing techniques of the Fat Shack Restaurant and all updates and revisions. If it is the franchisee's first restaurant, Fat Shack will provide on-site opening assistance, from one or more of their representatives, to assist the franchisee for not less than 30 days in opening their Fat Shack Restaurant. If Fat Shack's representatives must travel more than 100 miles and incur room and board expenses, Fat Shack may charge the franchisee a fee of $195 per day to offset their food and board costs to provide this service. Fat Shack will also guide the franchisee in implementing grand opening advertising and marketing programs, operating and sales procedures.
